Today’s reading is Romans 6: 1-4
Thus far in Romans we’ve seen how we are saved not by our actions, but through faith and grace. We saw yesterday that that yes sin is great, but grace is greater. So it is easy to think that our actions don’t matter. If grace abounds, if we are not saved by our actions, but rather by faith, then does it matter how we act, how we live, what we do? Do our actions matter at all? Let’s just all eat, drink, and be merry!
Paul will spend time in this chapter reminding us yes, your actions do matter. If you are in Christ, you are to submit your life to Him. You were bought with a price. You are not free to live as you would like, but as Christ would have you live. We are new in Christ. We are different. We are not the same. We have been, and are being, converted. We are not to walk as we have always walked. We are to walk in newness of life. We are new, in Jesus.
