Today’s reading is 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7
Today we see what love does and does not do. Love is patient and kind. It bears, believes, hopes, and endure. It not boastful. Or arrogant. Or rude. It doesn’t want its own way. It isn’t resentful. Or irritable. It isn’t happy in wrongdoing. It is happy with the truth.
Goodness. There are so many areas of my life that are not typified by love. These are the marks I want to measure myself against. These are the things I want to see if I am doing. These are the things that I want to guard my heart (and my actions) against.
Today, what are the areas of our lives where love does not rule? Are we boastful? Or arrogant? Irriatitlbe? Do we endure? Hope? Are we kinds?
Love is the goal of our lives. Holiness is living out the grace of God, which calls us to the love of God and neighbor, which is the greatest commandment. Today, where do we find ourselves?
