Everything’s Gonna Be Alright

Everything’s gonna be alright.  It is.  No, really it is.  In this world we live in, so many are afraid.  So many are worried.  So many are angry.  It is going to be alright. All will be well. It will.  Trust me.

And if you don’t trust me, trust God.  Listen to what we are told today in Isaiah 65: 23-25:

23 They shall not labor in vain,
or bear children for calamity;*
for they shall be offspring blessed by the Lord
and their descendants as well.
24 Before they call I will answer,
while they are yet speaking I will hear.
25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together,
the lion shall eat straw like the ox;
but the serpent; its food shall be dust!
They shall not hurt or destroy
on all my holy mountain,
says the Lord.

In Isaiah 65, God paints this beautiful picture of what is coming; what eternity will be like.  The lion will lay with the lamb.  All, that sin has destroyed, God will restore.  When you read this passage, when you read what we are told in Revelation, it seems as though every little thing that has been destroyed or corrupted by sin will be restored as God wants it to be.

2480898486_de57df89a6_oEverything is gonna be alright. God has this. God is at work. God will restore.  Seriously, read what we read this morning. He has this.  Believe.  Breathe.  Hope.  Live.  Love.  Be faithful.  He created this world.  Through Christ He redeems, and in Christ, He will restore.

It’s going to be alright.  When we focus on what God is going to do in the future, how He is going to restore, not only does that give us peace in this moment, it gives us the grace to be faithful in this moment.  I love what CS Lewis writes in Mere Christianity – “It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they have become so ineffective in this. Aim at Heaven and you will get earth “thrown in”: aim at earth and you will get neither.”

Aim at heaven today.  Know that our redemption and the redemption of the entire world is coming. It is.  Remember what is to come.  God has promised.  So, be faithful today.  Be hopeful today.  God has this.  He really does.  Don’t lose hope, don’t lose faithfulness.  Be faithful.

Everything’s gonna be alright.  God has promised.  And we can trust Him.
