We see Peter going fishing today. This doesn’t just mean he’s going back to an old hobby, but he’s going back to his old life. This whole Jesus stuff is over. He’s tried it, he failed, and he’s going back to what he knows. He’s going fishing. But even when he’s going back to the old, who finds him there? Jesus. Even when he wants to walk away, Jesus is there. Jesus didn’t give up on him. And He won’t on you either. Don’t give up on Jesus. Because Jesus won’t give up on you.

Good morning! It’s great to be with you on this Tuesday morning as we near the end of our study of John. We’ve only got two more days—Wednesday and Thursday—before we’re done. After that, I’ll figure out where we’ll go next.
Since the year is almost over, I may hold off on starting a new book of the Bible until January. For the rest of this year, we could look at some Psalms, focus on the Christmas season, or explore other meaningful passages. Let me know if you have suggestions!
Today, let’s read John 20:30-31, two short but significant verses:
“Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing, you may have life in his name.”
These verses remind us why the Bible exists. It’s not a complete history of the world or every detail of Jesus’ life. Instead, its purpose is clear: to show us who Jesus is so we can believe in Him and have life in His name.
The Bible tells the story of:
- Creation—how God made everything (Genesis 1-2).
- The Fall—how sin entered the world (Genesis 3).
- Redemption—God’s plan to save us through Jesus, shown from Genesis 4 through Revelation.
The Bible isn’t just for information; it’s for transformation. It’s not about memorizing every detail but about letting God change our hearts through His Word. When we read Scripture, we encounter God’s grace and grow in faith.
So today, as we study His Word, let’s allow it to transform us. Let’s grow closer to Jesus, trust in Him, and live in the abundant life He offers.
Thank you for joining me today. Tomorrow, we’ll continue with Jesus and Peter. Have a wonderful day!
