Jesus’ life was hard. Yesterday, we saw the disciples believe, even though it was. Today, we see that His own brothers do not believe. Can you imagine how hard it would be to have your own family not believing or supporting you? Yet, Jesus kept faithful to His mission. He would not be moved from that mission, even when people who He loved did not believe. He kept focused on that mission. Don’t give up even when it’s hard. God has something for you. It may be hard. It may be a challenge. Keep going. Don’t give up. Jesus stayed on mission. We must as well.

Good morning! It’s always a joy to connect with you as we dive into the Word together, especially on this Friday.
As we look at John 7:1-9, it’s striking to see the challenges Jesus faced, even from His own family. His brothers doubted Him, encouraging Him to “prove” Himself in Judea, the center of religious and social life. They didn’t believe, and yet, Jesus didn’t let their disbelief sway Him from His purpose. His focus remained on God’s timing and His mission.
We can relate to that temptation to prove ourselves, to “show the world” what we can do, especially when others doubt us. But Jesus models a different path—one of patience, humility, and trust in God’s timing. He wasn’t after fame or recognition. He was after faithfulness to His calling, and that’s something we can learn from as we face our own challenges.
We can see a real contrast between Peter’s faith and the disbelief of Jesus’ brothers. Peter, even though he found Jesus’ teachings hard, remained committed, saying, “You have the words of life.” It reminds us that belief isn’t about ease or comfort but about recognizing the truth of who Jesus is, even in the hard moments.
Jesus’ example shows us that we don’t have to chase the approval of others or prove ourselves according to the world’s standards. Like Jesus, we can stay focused on our mission, trusting in God’s timing and purpose. Even when it’s hard or when others don’t believe in us, we can keep going, knowing that our Father supports and loves us.
We’ve all got a great weekend ahead, filled with beautiful moments, and I hope it’s filled with peace and joy. Keep doing what you’re doing, staying focused on what matters most. You’ve got this, just as Jesus had His mission, and I know you’ll navigate it all with grace.
Looking forward to continuing with John 7 next week. Have a blessed weekend!
