As we start our week of Thanksgiving, we begin with Psalm 100. This is one of my personal favorites of the Psalms because it tells us this. We are loved by God. But not only are loved by God, but we are worthy of being loved by God because He made us. We are His. We are the sheep of his pasture. He has made us, He has formed us, we are His. We are loved today. So, we enter His courts with praise because of what He has done for us. Today, give thanks and praise because you are loved by an amazing God.

Good morning! Welcome to our time together on this Thanksgiving week. Whether you’re traveling or have different plans, I hope this message finds you well. This week, let’s take a moment to reset and focus on Thanksgiving. We’ll be reading some Psalms over the next few days.
Today, let’s start with Psalm 100, a Psalm of Thanksgiving. “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness. Come into his presence with singing. Know that the Lord is God. It is he that made us, and we are his. We are his people and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him. Bless his name. For the Lord is good. His steadfast love endures forever. His faithfulness to all generations.”
Psalm 100 is short but profound. It emphasizes not just human praise but the worship of all creation. We are called to make a joyful noise, to worship with gladness, to enter God’s presence with singing. The central message is powerful: “Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his, the sheep of his pasture.”
This verse, “We are his people, the sheep of his pasture,” is especially touching. It reminds us that we are not only loved by God but are also worthy of that love. It’s common to hear that God loves us, but it’s equally crucial to understand and internalize that we are worthy of that love.
Entering into Thanksgiving week, know that you are loved, and you are worthy of that love. Despite imperfections, sin, and brokenness, God’s grace makes us worthy. So, enter into this week with gratitude, rejoicing in the steadfast love of God that endures forever.
Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving week. I look forward to journeying through more Psalms with you in the coming days. Have a wonderful day!
