A Note on my Daily Rooted in Christ

Hey everyone,

Just a quick note. I really appreciate everyone who takes the time to read these daily devotionals. I’ve been doing this in some form or another for twenty years. I started out, I think, just emailing it out, then it moved to an (I think it was Yahoo) email group, then to a couple of blogs, and now it’s something I email, post, and text out.

I started it as a way to reach people who were in my church but couldn’t always be there. During COVID, I was sending out a daily reading and video. At one point, I did a podcast. I’ve tried a lot of different things.

But recently, I’ve noticed that I’ve gotten a little sloppy. My grammar has never been, shall we say, the strongest, but I’ve made a couple of errors and over sites that have bothered me. I made one today that, while not harmful or heretical, was sloppy. And for that, I’m sorry. I mistakenly said it was Nicodemus’ tomb that Jesus was buried in. While Nicodemus assisted with the burial (John 19: 38-42), the scripture clearly shows that it was Joseph of Arimathea’s tomb. I’m sorry for that mistake that went out earlier this morning.

Life has been, shall we say, hectic for me recently, with sick parents and other issues within our United Methodist Church that have occupied my time and my mind. Because of that, I think it’s probably a good idea for me to take a little break from Rooted until I can figure out a system to give it, and your reading of God’s word, the proper respect and time it deserves. So, I’m going to take a leave for a while from Rooted, and I’m truly sorry. But I want to be able to make sure this is the quality that it should be.

Don’t worry; this is not forever. But it may take a minute to figure out.

Thanks for your encouragement, and I look forward to journeying with you through scripture again really soon.

Andy
