January 30, 2023 – This I Believe – At the Right Hand of the Father

Today we will continue looking at the Apostles’ Creed:

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

Today’s passage is on that is so very powerful, but we don’t think about it a lot or think about what it means. Today we look at “is seated at the right hand of the Father.” This is something we believe, but we don’t think about the power of what it means.

Friday, we talked about the ascension, and today we see where Jesus ascended to. He is seated at the right hand of the Father. This shows His power. As I have heard said and believe, this Gospel is this – Jesus is Lord. He sits at the right hand of the Father, where He will reign. Every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that He is Lord. At the right hand shows, His power shows His Lordship. Shows who He is.

But let’s talk about what exactly He is doing at the right hand of the Father. Romans 8:34 tells us: “Who is to condemn? It is Christ who died, or rather, who was raised, who is also at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.” Jesus Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father, and there He intercedes for us.

There, at the right hand of the Father, He prays for us. Right here, right now, at this point, Jesus Christ is praying for us. As He sits at the right hand of the Father, He is praying for us, He is pulling for us, and He is there for us.

This about how powerful that is. Jesus Christ, King of Kings, Lord of Lord of Lords, right now, at this time, is praying for me, is praying for you. He prays for you.

Jesus is praying for you right now. We can do all things because we have the greatest prayer warrior on our side. Jesus. Do not be afraid. Do not fear. Do not feel alone.

Today, no matter what you are going through, Jesus Christ is praying for you!
