Today we are reading from Mark 13: 24-27:

24 “But in those days, after that suffering,
the sun will be darkened,
    and the moon will not give its light,
25 and the stars will be falling from heaven,
    and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.
26 Then they will see ‘the Son of Man coming in clouds’ with great power and glory. 27 Then he will send out the angels, and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.

We see Jesus continue to teach about His return today.  This entire chapter of Mark, Mark 13, deals with what will happen before He returns, and today we see Him talk about what His return will look like. 

You can’t miss it.  The Son of Man (a term that is from Daniel, when Jesus uses it about Himself, He is always talking about His return of power) will come in the clouds, with power and glory.  The angels will gather the church from all the world.  The judgment will come.  You can’t miss it.  

Jesus here before quotes Jeremiah about you will see the evidence of His coming all around, the son, the moon, the stars, the powers of heaven will be shaken.  Yesterday He warned us to be on the lookout for false messiahs.  Today is telling us that when He does return, there will be no doubt.  You can’t miss it.  You can’t mistake it.  All the world will know.  Everyone will see.  And as we are told later in Scripture, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess.  

In His first coming, He came as a newborn in a small town. Many, many people missed it. They weren’t looking for it.  They had not read the scriptures, they had not seen the signs. They missed it.  He is telling us today, no one will miss the second.  

So today, be ready.  Be on the lookout.  Make sure your heart is ready, may sure that you are prepared.  He will come again. He will make all things right.  He will restore all things.  Sin, death, and the grave will be defeated.  

Be ready, because when He comes, you can’t miss it.
