Today we are reading from Mark 6: 53-56:
53 When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret and moored the boat. 54 When they got out of the boat, people at once recognized him, 55 and rushed about that whole region and began to bring the sick on mats to wherever they heard he was. 56 And wherever he went, into villages or cities or farms, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and begged him that they might touch even the fringe of his cloak; and all who touched it were healed.
We see a consistent thing today in our text. No matter where Jesus went, people flocked to Him. They came to Him from all over. When He came into their towns, they came, they brought their sick, they brought their needy, they brought everything, because they had this.
They had faith. They had faith that Jesus could heal. They had faith that Jesus could restore. They had faith that Jesus could do it. They knew it. And they would do whatever in their power to get close enough to Jesus to experience Him. They just knew, they just knew it that could heal.
They had faith.
Today, do we? Do we have the same faith? Do we, deep down, truly, honestly know that Jesus can heal? That Jesus can restore? That Jesus can bring life? Do we know that?
He is the life giver. He is the restorer. He gives life and health and peace. He loves us. He truly loves us. And we can faith in that today.
The people in our text, they had faith that Jesus can heal. Today, may we have that same faith.
