2020 – Deeper

Dear friends,

rootedchristIn 2018, we started our Rooted in Christ Bible reading.  Over the course of the year, we read through the majority of the Bible and had daily guides for each day’s reading.  If you like to check out what we did in 2018, you can click here.  In 2019, we moved slower, taking time to slowly read Luke, Acts, Romans, James, some Psalms, and some of my (and other’s) favorite scriptures.  You can read our 2019 reading guides here.

This year, we are going to do something a little different.  Once again we will text out each day’s readings, along with a reading guide.  But this year, I want to go deeper.  Instead of looking at a different passage each day, over the course of each week, we will look at one passage (or chapter) and read it daily.  And each day’s reading guide will seek to give us a greater understanding of context and a deeper understanding of what is happening with the reading.

In short this year, I want us to go deeper.  Deeper in our reading, deeper in our understanding, deeper in our love for God and deeper in our love for neighbor.  Each week will have a theme around the passage as well.

I’m very excited about this year, but I do want and need your feedback. What do you think?  What would you like to look at?  What could help you learn more?

I really want this to be the year that our faith goes so much deeper and grows so much greater.  Thank you for walking along with us these past few years and I look forward to what God will teach us this year.  You can text @39110 to 81010 to sign up for this.  You can also follow along on our mobile app (download here for free) and we will send out a weekly email with each week’s readings, along with the daily reading guides (click here to sign up).
