Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

Today’s reading is Psalm 139

rootedchristToday’s reading is a powerful and beautiful Psalm, perhaps (outside of 23) the most quoted, admired, and important passage among the Psalms.  We see that God knows all about us, He is before us, beside us, behind us, with us. We can’t flee from Him, even if we make our home in the most unsearchable parts, even there He’ll find us. His Spirit is with us and pursues us.

Why? Because we are fearfully and wonderfully made.  We are made in His image.  He has formed us, He has made us.  We are His.

Today, know this, that the Lord loves you.  You are the prize of His creation.  You can’t outrun His love.  You can’t hide from Him. This may sound scary if we carry guilt into our relationship with Him, but remember, that guilt has been forgiven by Jesus.  We are loved, we matter.  We are His.  Lay that guilt down.  Bask in His love for you.  Walk in that mercy.  You are His, and He is yours.

You fearfully and wonderfully made.  Never forget that.
