Today’s reading is Psalm 100:

This is a simple Psalm of praise.  The Lord is good!  His steadfast love endures forever!  Rejoice, worship Him.

This is one of the Psalms that is consistently part of the Morning Office within the Book of Common Prayer, which is my morning devotional every day.  These are words that are very close to my heart, but the words that I love the most are verse 3 – it the Lord who has made us, we are His, we are the sheep of His pasture.  I love that so very much.  He made us.  We are His.  He is the good shepherd; we are His sheep.  We are in His pasture.

The Lord has made you.  He has shaped you.  You are His today, you are.  He has formed you, created you, breathed life into you.  You are His.  I want you to hear that again this morning.  You are His.  You belong to the Lord.  You are the sheep of His pasture.  Know who you are.  Know whose you are.  You belong to the Lord our God.  Never doubt that.  You are His sheep today.
