Today’s reading is Psalm 91:

This is a great Psalm of assurance of rescue.  I love what it says in verse 14 – those who love me, I will deliver. That’s a great word of hope and encouragement today.  God is on our side, God is not out to get us, God is for us.  Hear that today.  God is for you. That’s a big, big concept that sometimes we (myself included) struggle with.  It is so easy with our mistakes in life or inadequacies to think that God is out to get us or God is against us.  He is not.  He is with us.  He is for us.  He is our rescuer and defender.

Sometimes in our lives we want to think of ourselves as the hero of our story, but that is not the case.  God is the hero.  God is the deliverer.  God is the one who saves.  God is the one who restores.  God is the one who redeems.

He saves those who love Him.  Today, trust in that.
