Over the next few weeks in our Rooted in Christ Study, we’ll be looking at some of the favorite passages from our staff at St. Matthew’s UMC. These are some of the parts of the Bible to mean to most to our staff.
Today’s reading is Revelation 21: 1-6:
Today we read a glimpse of eternity. There will come a time when there will be no more sickness, pain, and death. All of that will be destroyed. God will wipe away every tear from our eyes. No more sadness. No more grief. No more pain. No more loss. No more death. No more sin. No more temptation.
No more addiction. No more depression. No more anxiety. No more exhausting. No more. No more.
None of the things that exhaust you, that beat you, that break you, those things will be no more.
Hope in that today. Cling close to that today. This world will pass away and something better is coming. Remember that. Keep your hope in that. Something better is coming, where God will walk with us. He will be our God and we will be His people. Today, if it is dark and hopeless in your world, hold fast to that. Something better is coming.
