Over the next few weeks in our Rooted in Christ Study, we’ll be looking at some of the favorite passages from our staff at St. Matthew’s UMC. These are some of the parts of the Bible to mean to most to our staff.
Today’s reading is Proverbs 3: 1-12
The book of Proverbs is full of just such solid wisdom for our lives. So much there, we hear such good wisdom for the living of our lives. Proverbs is just full of practical advice that can be so helpful to each day. Today’s passage centers in one of the key passages in this book, and really in all of scripture. We see this, trust it the Lord, acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight.
Our path forward doesn’t start with our own wisdom or knowledge, but it starts with God. It starts with His grace and wisdom, trusting in that, above all our own. When we do that, when we submit ourselves to God and His strength, wisdom, and plan for our lives, He makes our paths straight. He opens doors. He directs us. He points us in the way, He leads us.
He directs us. Today, trust in Him. In doing that, you will find your path straight.
