Today’s reading is Psalm 46
Today’s reading ends with another great line from the Psalms, doesn’t it? We’ve had a lof those this week. The Psalms are just such a joy to read. Listen to what we are told in verse ten:
“Be still, and know that I am God! I am exalted among the nations, I am exalted in the earth.”
That’s one of those great, great encouragements of scripture, be still and know that He is God. There’s just a lof truth there, regardless of anything. But remember context always adds so much to passages such as this. But here’s the cool thing, today’s context makes this verse even better. We see within this passage that this is a Psalm of courage. Why should I be afraid, look at what God has done?
Stand strong. Have faith. Have courage. Have hope. Know that He is God. Don’t fear. Don’t be swayed by emotion or doubt or anything. Know that He is God. Be still. Cut off the noise, the sound, the movement. Be still in front of a holy God. Be still in front of Him.
Know that He is God. Know that, deep in the core of your being. Be still and know that He is God. He had this. Be still and know. He is God. Don’t doubt, only believe.
