It’s About Loving Jesus

Today’s reading is Romans 9: 30-33

rootedchristPaul today, as he will through the next few chapters wrestles with the fact that the Gentiles found the righteousness that they weren’t even striving for, while others were striving for righteousness through the law, but have not found it.  Why is that?  Because the righteousness that is found is not a work of the law, but it is a work of faith.  So the striving that is to make is not striving towards the law.  It is striving towards faith.  This is the way that I put it, I’m not trying to make you a good person. I’m trying to get you to love Jesus.  I believe that if you love Jesus, He’ll take care of the good and the bad.  You can try very hard to be a good person.  And miss Jesus.

It’s not about being good.  It’s about loving Jesus.  If you love Him, He takes care of the rest.
