No One is Faultless

Today’s reading is Romans 2: 12-15

rootedchristWe see that point again today about sin. All have sinned.  Those under the law, those apart from the law.  No one stands clean. No one stands faultless.  I don’t.  You don’t.  None of us.  Listen, I know we all want to run past this part and not focus or really even think about our sin. It’s no fun to think about. It’s tough. It’s even depressing.  We don’t like it. But here’s the thing, y’all. If we really don’t know how in need of forgiveness we are, we won’t really be able to appreciate it.

Sometimes we have done things that are wrong, and we weren’t sure if it was right or wrong. There are times like that. But there are other times when we know. We know right from wrong, and we still do wrong.

Both times we stand condemned.  Under or apart from, sin is sin.  And we have all done it.  You.  Me.  All of us. We need to take a moment and truly realize what we have done. Because without this, we really can’t understand grace.
