Our Delivery

Today’s reading is Psalm 25

rootedchristWhen you read the Psalms, I hope you hear the angst.  I hope you read the pain.  Today, you see that David is afraid.  He is worried.  He has many against him, and on every side.  He is in need.  So, what does he do?

He turns to God for help and strength in this moment.  He turns to God for mercy and forgiveness.  He turns to God to win the battle and give him strength.  He turns to God in this moment.  Now, notice, even with his trust in God, he is still worried.  He is still afraid.  It isn’t all still easy. It’s still hard. But he still trusts.

Why?  Because in this the end, this isn’t about his strength or perfection or anything like that.  It is about God’s.  And He has promised not to leave us in the midst of struggles or worries or fears or doubts or anything like that.  We are to trust.  In the midst of all.  Trust.  God is God.  He is glorious and to be praised.

Our delivery is not via our own goodness or strength.  It is via His.  Trust in that today.
