Today’s reading is 1 Kings 19: 19-21
Today we read the conclusion of Elijah’s journey in 1 Kings 19. In this chapter he failed, he ran, and he heard God’s voice. On his way back, he meets, as God told him that he would, Elisha, who would become his successor as a prophet. That is what God does. God takes this failure, takes this mistake, and brings something good out of it. Our of Elijah’s failure, the next great prophet in Israel meets the prophet that would be his mentor, that would shape his ministry, that would help him to know how to point Israel to the right.
There is nothing that God cannot redeem and use. Even our failures and our mistakes can be used for great things if we will allow God to have them. If we will give them over to God, He will use every area, every moment, every bit of our lives for our good and His glory. Even our mistakes. If we will let Him.
