Today’s reading is Psalm 18
Today’s Psalm contrasts two truths. Our weakness and God’s greatness. We start off this passage with the reality of the need of David. David tells us that he is near death. He is at the end of his rope. There is very little left within him, he is bound for defeat, he is bound for death. He knows his time is at hand. In this moment of weakness, he cries out to God for help. He is weak. He knows he is weak. He knows that his only source of help is from the Lord.
And what happens? Just as we see that David is weak, we see that the Lord is strong. We see that the Lord is able to bring victory and deliverance, in spite of how dire the situation looks. Nothing is too great for the Lord to overcome. Not trial to great, no battle too big. Nothing can stop the power of God.
Today, understand your need for God. You are not as strong as you think you are. When you realize that, you find a strength that you don’t even know is available. As weak and human as we may be, God is equally great and strong. When we are weak, He is strong, as the old song goes. Today, trust in Him, even in your weakness. The Lord is mighty and mighty to be praised. Today, trust in Him.
