Today’s reading is Acts 24: 1-23

Today we see Paul before Felix.  First we see that his accusers come, saying that Paul is trying to stir up trouble among the people, while in fact it is the other way around.  Paul comes and tells how he is actually preaching what the people have believed for years, Jesus the fulfillment of the Old Testament teaching and covenant.  Paul is not teaching something new, but rather, he is teaching what all the tradition has pointed towards.  He is giving the fulfillment of the truth that was shared by Moses, David, and all the Old Testament saints.

Paul knew this and was able to point to it.

Also, notice what Paul said, it is about the Resurrection that he is there to testify to. That is the point of our faith, that is the truth fo the Gospel.  Life triumphs over death.  Jesus is raised from the dead and death is defeated. That’s what Paul is ultimately testifying too. That is what our faith ultimately comes down to.
