Today’s reading is Acts 21: 1-15
Paul knows what is going to happen. In many ways, he is modeling what Jesus did. Jesus knew that He was to go to the cross. He knew what was to happen. He was aware at how this would end. Yet, He did it anyway because it knew it was for this reason He was born, Jesus was the Lamb that was slain before the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8). Jesus came for this purpose. And he would not be denied that purpose.
Paul is the same. He now has a purpose from God. He has a divine reason and appointment. He is to go to Jerusalem. If he dies there, he dies. That is not the point. The point is to be faithful to his purpose.
Today, what is your purpose. What are you hear for? What is your reason? Why do you live? We all need a purpose, we are all given a purpose. What is yours? We never fully live until we know our purpose.
