Turn the World Upside Down

Today’s reading is Acts 17: 1-15

rootedchristToday’s reading has one of my favorite phrases in all the Bible. When Paul and Silas are preaching the people say this – these people who have been turning the world upside down.  What a great accusation to have hurled at you. These are the folks that are turning the world upside down. May that be what they say about us, that we want to turn the world upside down.

So, two questions based off this today. First, what would it look like if you could turn the world upside down? What would you do differently? How would it be different?

Second, do you really believe that you could do that?  Do you believe that the people of God can Do that?  Do you think that we have it within us?

Here’s the thing, we don’t.  We can’t change the world in our own power, might, or strength. We aren’t that good, we aren’t that powerful.  It’s God’s power flowing through us through the Holy Spirit.  It’s not us; it’s Him.  It’s His power.  We can change the world because He can change the world.  He has before, and He will do it again.
