What to Say?

One of the reasons why I think it is hard to give witness to our faith is we don’t know what to say.  How can I share my faith?  What will say?  How can I invite someone to church?  What are the words that I need to say to others?  I know we have all been there, and I think that’s one reason why we are hesitant to share our faith.  When we get there, though, we need to remember the words that we are told in Matthew 10: 18-20:

18and you will be dragged before governors and kings because of me, as a testimony to them and the Gentiles. 19When they hand you over, do not worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say; for what you are to say will be given to you at that time; 20for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

conversation_5556628632Jesus tells us don’t worry about what we are to say when we are telling others about Him.  In the context here, it is talking about when believers face persecution because of Him.  He says when they drag you in front of others because of Him, don’t worry.

The spirit will give you what you need to say.

In our daily lives, it is the same.  Don’t worry about what you will say when you have the chance to tell folks about your faith.  Just follow the leading of the spirit.

Don’t worry about what you will say when you have the chance to invite someone to church.  Just follow the leading of the spirit.

Just follow what God is telling you.  He will lead.  He will direct.

Don’t stress.  Don’t worry. Don’t fret.  Just be faithful.  Listen.  The spirit will guide.  He really will.

When God is leading you, follow.  The Holy Spirit is going to direct you what to say, where to go, what do to.  Listen.  Follow.

So, today, don’t be afraid about what to say.  God will lead.  God will speak through you and to you.

And He will receive all the glory when we are faithful.
