Look Around

Today, God wants to show you His glory.  God wants you to see something big, something beautiful, something powerful.  God wants to change your life, change your perspective, change so many things.

All you have to do is look around.  Listen to what we are told in Romans 1: 19-20:

19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 Ever since the creation of the world his eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things he has made. So they are without excuse;

Little_Gasparilla_sunrisePaul, in starting his letter to the Romans, is laying out all the ways that all of us can know the holiness and goodness of God. And he shares this passage here, saying that all of God’s goodness can be seen through creation.  All you have to do is look around at the universe, and in that, you can see God’s power.

In a sunrise.

In the majesty of the universe.

In the smile of someone you love.

God’s glory is all around us.  It really is.  In big ways and small ways.  It’s everywhere.  You’ve just got to look around.

Sometimes we only look for God in the big and the grand and the glorious. And yes, God does come to us in those ways.  But, do not miss Him in the small.  In the simple.  In the seemingly insignificant.  He is there, as well.

Look around today.  You will see God’s glory.  And in seeing that, may we be reminded of God’s great love for us, and for the world.  And we may we seek to love others, as God has loved us.

Today, may we look around.
